The Young Professionals ministry at High Pointe is made up of young people that are interested in connecting and fellowshipping with other young people. While we are all united in Christ, High Pointe recognizes that the young have different interests and needs than those who are "married with children," and this group/class seeks to address those interests and needs.
Who is a Young Professional?
It is always so difficult to put labels on groups of people. The Young Professionals is probably one of the most diverse groups at High Pointe. Not to put a limit on the group by age, but the young in this group typically range from 18 to 35 years of age, but some may be older and a few younger. And ... this group is not just for singles. Young and married or young and single ... you are welcome to the Young Professionals!
Do you get together at times other than Bible class?
We have an activity on Sunday nights about 3 times a month. We just finished a Tuesday night book study on Blue Like Jazz and are soon going to start having devo's on Tuesday nights. We also enjoy hanging out on weekends maybe 1 or 2 times a month. We go to movies, plays, Starbucks, out to eat. To find out more go to Young Professionals

The Young Marrieds ministry at High Pointe is composed mainly of young married couples, most of whom have not yet had children.
When does the group get together?
We get together at least once a week in small groups on Sunday nights. We now have two small groups within our Sunday morning class. A lot of us hang out outside of class and small group at different times to catch a movie, play guitar hero, or have a game night.

The 'Growing Families' class is typically made up of young families with young children. They are very active in the participation of church related events that involve their children such as VBS, Fall Fest, Easter Eggstravaganza, Parents Night Out among others. This group is very dynamic and successful at reaching out to the community through these and other kid related events and activities.

This ministry is made up of those age 50 and up. The Seniors get together for a monthly fellowship, with food, music, and more. They are also active in serving in many different ways. For updates on the Seniors ministry, see Sharp Notes. |
