What a busy
week it has been. School has started,
the temperature is cooling down a bit, and everyone is beginning to settle into
a routine again. We also promoted our
Bible classes and began a new Trimester last week. Many thanks to those of you who are sharing
God’s word with our High Pointe children. Not only are you planting seeds of truth that God will grow in their
hearts, you are also encouraging parents by your commitment to help them share
the Stories of God with their children.
Give Satan the Slip on Wednesdays Bible
Classes for all from 7:00-7:45
Wednesday
nights are often a challenging time for our families to get to the building,
yet many of you are intentional about being here so that your children will see
that discipleship, and Christian relationships are something worth our time and
efforts. I thank you for coming. I am blessed to see you. When we are here together it is encouraging
to share a smile, a hug, a visit, and a prayer together. If you haven’t been here on Wednesdays in a
while, let me encourage you to try it again. We are bringing back the pajamas
and slippers this week in an effort to help our little ones get in bed on time
after church. To help
our teachers get their own children in bed on time, we ask that you please remember
that Bible class is over at 7:45 and be prompt to pick up your children from
their classrooms. Children who are
not picked up on time will be given a double espresso before dismissal.
There are
two classes that still need teachers on Wednesday nights. One is the nursery and the other is the two
year old class. There are precious
little ones here each and every week, and they are here to learn about their
loving God.
Wouldn’t you
like to be the one who is cheered up by a smile or a hug from these precious
babies each week? Wouldn’t you feel good
about your time if you knew that you had encouraged a young parent who is
making the effort to get here each week? Give them an hour of your time, and just see if you don’t receive more
in return.

This week in Kidzone we are learning about humility~thinking
of others before ourselves.
All youth
who are currently participating in Kidzone or want to be part of a Kidzone team
must sign up with Dana or Lantz by the end of August. There will be a training session at the end
of that sign up period. You may sign up
in class or on the signup sheet posted in the Kidzone room.
Many of our
current Kidzone teams have been serving this church family by teaching our
children during worship for quite some time. It is time to consider if you would enjoy being a part of this vital
ministry in our church. If you currently
have children who are participating in Kidzone, stay and visit to check us
out.
Our annual First grade Bibles and
Blessings ceremony will be Sunday morning, Sept 12. Celebrating this milestone with our families is an important part
of this church’s heritage. Please submit
pictures to the church office by Sunday, September 5.
KFC Kick off is Sunday, August 29 5:00--7:00 Pizza & Nuke ‘Em Parent Information Meeting
from 5-5:30. You will receive the yearly
calendar at this time. Cost is
$3/person for dinner.
Pack the Pantry
There are quite a few good buys this week. We are really short on
canned fruit and vegetables. We have alternated weeks, giving out a more
complete bag one week and one with just the bare minimum the next. Next
week will be the week for the bigger bag, and we don't have a lot of fruits and
vegetables. Any help with this will be much appreciated.
