What is the make-up (age, life situation) of your group?
Age - 65 and up; retired; two ladies work part-time; couples, widows and widowers.
- How long has your group been in existence?
Approximately 8 years
- What are the typical elements of your group meeting?
Prayer requests and prayers, singing (2 or 3 songs), bible study, eating and fellowship
- What is the primary focus of the group? (fellowship, Bible study, service, outreach, prayer, etc.)
Prayer; Bible study; fellowship; mutual support and encouragement.
- What studies, outreaches, service projects is your group currently engaged in?
Mostly textural bible study. Presently I John taught by Gary Anderson.
Recently we watched Rick Atchley's "Amazing Place" series on heaven. We met in one of the portable buildings and invited guests for that.
As our group is older there have been/are lots health issues that need support. There have been four deaths. Three of the widows, one remarried, are still part of the group. We try to keep in touch and help each other when needed. One of our group has numerous health problems and we have given personal, emotional and financial support to encourage this person.
We also have four men fish together at every opportunity.

15 regular members, 4 part time (that live in McKinney parttime); 12 average attendance

Sunday evening at 6 P.M. in homes, limited meetings June-August and December
- What are some of the best memories/moments that you have had in your group?
Annual summer fish fry and annual Super Bowl party that often attracts visitors.
