Our current make-up is 6 couples, 45 and up, combination of empty nesters and parents of teens. We welcome other ages and family size (including singles) but are not equipped for small children.
2. How long has your group been in existence?
In 2008 the former Goff group multiplied into two groups. The Goff’s and Barr’s left to start a new group for other members in the Allen/McKinney area who were not in a Connection Group.
3.What are the typical elements of your group meeting?
Devotional, needs sharing and prayer, followed by fellowship over dessert.
4. What is the primary focus of the group? (fellowship, Bible study, service, outreach, prayer, etc.)
Prayer, Bible study and fellowship.

6. When and where does your group typically meet?
We rotate the location among member’s homes.

Times of personal or family crisis – the support given and received.

1. What is the make-up (age, life situation) of your group?
Both retired and working any age is welcome
2.How long has your group been in existence?
First birth around 2003; Disbanded when I resigned as an elder in mid 2007. Began again in late 2008.
3.What are the typical elements of your group meeting?
3 Weeks out of four: Rotate hosting at members houses. Host prepares devotional; prayers for members; meal together prepared by host.
4. What is the primary focus of the group? (fellowship, Bible study, service, outreach, prayer, etc.)
3 Weeks out of four: devotional/bible study and fellowship ( in James terms--Spiritual Formation) ; Fourth week we meet a restaurant after church. The person assigned then assigns the group a service project to be done that week. So, we have a mixture of Spiritual Formation and Service.

Core Group that begin small group, 8 ; typically 8-10.

In homes assign by rotation 3 weeks out of 4; at restaurant 1 week out of 4
7.What are some of the best memories/moments that you have had in your group?
The core group has known each other for over 25 years. We have a lot to share.

How long has your group been in existence? Approx. 8-10 yrs.
What are the typical elements of your group meeting?
Bible study, prayer requests, fellowship (snacks or meal)

What studies, outreaches, service projects is your group currently engaged in? We generally have a 12-week Bible study with either books or questions to be studied in advance, followed by a 12-week series of videos, followed by questions/discussion.

When and where does your group typically meet?
We try to rotate homes, but usually meet on Sunday nights at the Hardin House, 6804 Cunningham Rd., McKinney
What are some of the best memories/moments that you have had in your group? Encouraging/helping each other through family emergencies – we’ve had cancer, death, grandchildren health issues (premature twins, fighting to survive, Autism, etc.), children’s loss of jobs, etc. We’ve formed a strong bond by diligently praying for our families and friends.

- What is the make-up (age, life situation) of your group?
Age - 65 and up; retired; two ladies work part-time; couples, widows and widowers.
- How long has your group been in existence?
Approximately 8 years
- What are the typical elements of your group meeting?
Prayer requests and prayers, singing (2 or 3 songs), bible study, eating and fellowship
- What is the primary focus of the group? (fellowship, Bible study, service, outreach, prayer, etc.)
Prayer; Bible study; fellowship; mutual support and encouragement.
- What studies, outreaches, service projects is your group currently engaged in?
Mostly textural bible study. Presently I John taught by Gary Anderson.
Recently we watched Rick Atchley's "Amazing Place" series on heaven. We met in one of the portable buildings and invited guests for that.
As our group is older there have been/are lots health issues that need support. There have been four deaths. Three of the widows, one remarried, are still part of the group. We try to keep in touch and help each other when needed. One of our group has numerous health problems and we have given personal, emotional and financial support to encourage this person.
We also have four men fish together at every opportunity.

15 regular members, 4 part time (that live in McKinney parttime); 12 average attendance

Sunday evening at 6 P.M. in homes, limited meetings June-August and December
- What are some of the best memories/moments that you have had in your group?
Annual summer fish fry and annual Super Bowl party that often attracts visitors.

- What is the make-up (age, life situation) of your group?
Our group consists of a core group of 4 families (2 with children, 2 without) as well as a couple of "single agains". We range in age from early 30's to early 50's with the kids ranging from 2 to 16.
- How long has your group been in existence?
We have been in existance for almost 6 years now, having started as a "multiple" of a larger group which outgrew the homes of the original members.
- What are the typical elements of your group meeting?
Bible study, fellowship, prayer with the newest addition of service in the form of Habitat for Humanity.
- What is the primary focus of the group? (fellowship, Bible study, service, outreach, prayer, etc.)
Our primary focus is twofold: fellowship & prayer. By getting to know each other well, we are open to share our needs so that the group may pray more effectively for each other.
- How many are in your group? (estimated total) How many are typically at a group meeting? A typical group meeting has our family of 6 plus another 4 or 6 members. If we were all to meet, there would be almost 25 of us.
- When and where does your group typically meet? Because two of our families have 4 children, we have found it most convenient to meet right after worship on Sunday at either a member's home or at a nearby restaurant or park to share a meal.
- What are some of the best memories/moments that you have had in your group?
We recently worked together on painting one of our member's house while he was off in Russia for the LTC mission trip. The look on his face when he returned home and discovered that we had done in one week what he thought would take him over a month was priceless.

- What is the make-up (age, life situation) of your group?
Our group is currrently made up of single women at or near retirement age, but we would welcome any women who would wish to be a part of a women's group,regardless of their marital status or age.
- How long has your group been in existence?
We began meeting meeting in February 2009, We meet once each month on Sunday evening. Our meeting dates are set several months in advance .
- What are the typical elements of your group meeting?
Our meetings consist of a meal together, devotional thought, a time of discussion and prayer. We are currently searching for a service project we can participate in as a group.
- What is the primary focus of the group? (fellowship, Bible study, service, outreach, prayer, etc.)
The purpose of the group is to provide an environment where women can form relationships with other women and be encouraged by them. It is also meant to be a place that we can invite others, both from church and the community, who would be blessed by being part of a group such as this. We pray earnestly for each other and for others that we are aware of that need prayer. We utilize e-mail to make each other aware of recent prayer needs. We also attempt to shepherd to the women in our group that are struggling.
- What studies, outreaches, service projects is your group currently engaged in?
Our group collects canned goods each time we meet which are delivered to the Food Pantry. We adopted a Christmas Angel as a group. We collect money each month to assist with various needs that we are made aware of through the church office in our community.
- How many are in your group? (estimated total) How many are typically at a group meeting?
We currently have 19 members, most are from High Pointe and 4 are not. We encourage our women to invite others from High Pointe who may not be well-connected, as well as women from the community. We usually have 12-16 at a typical meeting.
- When and where does your group typically meet?
Mainly my house,unless someone else volunteers to host.
- What are some of the best memories/moments that you have had in your group?
As we have gotten to know each other better and share stories with one another, we have found that we have experienced many of the same struggles and have celebrated many of the same victories. We are attempting to build community among this group of women that we believe will sustain us as we continue through life. Each of us acknowledge how important the church community has been to us in the past and wish to continue to nurture that for the future.

We really try to include all aspects with no particular focus. For example every once in a while we just go to a restaurant and eat. Most times we have a Bible study.
