A Tool for Team Based Ministry

 

The team concept of ministry, where every member plays an essential part and is valued, well fits the biblical model of the body: "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts . . . Now you are the body of Christ, and each of you is part of it" (1 Cor. 12:12, 27).

 

The Strengths Finder is a tool for team based ministry that was designed by the Gallup Organization and was tested on over 2 million people. Strengths are primarily your raw "talent"-your natural way of thinking and processing information, plus a little bit of experience.

 

When we are working within our Strengths, it feels natural and easy. These Strengths are part of the unique ways that God has made us, and our goal is to work within our Strengths as much as possible in the various areas of our lives.

 

The Strengths Finder is a tool for team-based ministry designed to:

 

 

1) Help people determine how they can serve in the body of Christ;
2) Help people know how to most effectively use their Spiritual gifts;
3) Give team leaders knowledge of people resources that they can draw upon to build a complementary team for a given ministry project.
4) Help people make connections and even friendships with others.

 

 

 

 

The book Now, Discover Your Strengths, by Marcus Buckingham and Donald Clifton, contains a code that allows one to acces s an online assessment tool. This online assessment gives a person his or her top five strengths.
