Prayer is an essential part of Spiritual Formation. Following Christ's example, we not only seek God's help and guidance through prayer, but we also learn to pray for others.
When we do not know what to pray, the Spirit himself, who lives inside of Christians, prays for us to the Father.
No matter is too trivial to take before the Father in prayer. We pray for physical needs, asking God for healing, food, clothing, and shelter.
We pray for emotional needs, crying out to God when we are sad, bitter, or angry, and praising him when we are filled with joy.
We pray for spiritual needs, asking God to help us in being patient, forgiving, and kind, for help in sharing our faith, and to help us resist temptation.
And as we pray, we can trust that God hears us, for it is through Jesus that we pray.
